The Charles ‘Bud’ Hallam Detachment meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Vacaville Veteran’s Memorial Building located at 549 Merchant St., Vacaville, CA 95688
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines and FMF Navy Personnel who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
Bud first moved to Vacaville with his family in 1938, and graduated from Dixon High School in 1942. He enjoyed being on the football team and hanging out with his best friend Bill Fairfield.
In August of 1942, Bud enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country for four years. He received two purple hearts for being wounded in combat during WWII, and was forever proud to have been a Marine Raider.
